The bed time values will increase in NEDOCS if your ED gets backed up with holds to outside facilities. This will quickly inflate the score because your staff will be tied up to take care of these patients instead of patients showing up at the door. And those values will also go up as patients are not leaving the facility. So even though they are not counted as holds, they are still counted in the general ED census.
